Agora landscape finalists found

The 50 finalists for best international landscape photo have been selected from Agora’s #Landscape2019 photo competition. More than 25,000 submissions were received by Agora, the free photography app.

From Namibia’s majestic sand dunes to Iceland’s breathtaking volcanic eruptions, members of the public will be able to travel through some of the most spectacular landscapes that Mother Earth has to offer. They get to choose the single best photo by voting via the app. The winning photographer gets $1500. The winner will be announced later this week.

Among the finalists is a photo of Mt Taranaki, by a German photographer who goes by the handle @superthijs. He says: “I took this shot during a two day hike around Mt Taranaki. I wanted to show the pure nature in New Zealand. Also, I almost destroyed by equipment on my way to the spot because I fell in a swamp with my camera.”

Australian photographer @olsson.adventures took this picture in Indonesia’s Komodo National Park. "We woke up at 2:00am, and went on 3 hours on a small motor boat through rough weather for an unforgettable sunrise on the Padar Island that is just breathtaking,” he said. “ With this photo, I want to transmit the emotion of pure wonder: this earth has some incredible places & landscapes. "

Although the city-state may be better known for its skyscrapers, Singapore aims to become the World’s greenest city. When drone pilot @i.ride.to.drone spotted these basketball courts in the middle of the forest, he knew it would make a great shot.
