Tuia Pito Ora New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects’ President Henry Crothers says the profession ends the year in good heart, despite the big Covid-19 disruptions.
“It’s been a really challenging year, obviously, for everyone. It was great to see members at the conference in Tauranga in May, but little did we know what was to come,” says Crothers as he wraps up 2021.
“Despite the challenges of the year, I think it is a really exciting time to be a landscape architect - we are busier than ever.”
Te Tangi a te Manu (Aotearoa New Zealand Landscape Assessment Guidelines) are being published next year.
Crothers, who took over as president in May, points to many Institute successes this year.
“We’ve made really good progress on Te Tangi a te Manu (Aotearoa New Zealand Landscape Assessment Guidelines) and are looking forward to having them published in the new year.”
He says next year is going to be a significant one for the Institute with the 2022 NZILA Firth Conference in Auckland 25-27 May marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute.
He is also urging members to enter the 2022 Resene New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architecture Awards - with entries remaining open until the end of January.
