The new NZILA President and new awards
Henry Crothers has taken over as president of the NZILA.
The LandLAB Design Director and NZILA Executive Committee Member took over the reins at last night’s President’s Cocktail Evening in Tauranga from outgoing President Brad Coombs.
Henry says he is excited about the new role and pleased to be able to make a contribution to the institute and the profession.
He says the NZILA has a strategy with four key aims and he will be focusing his attention on that. They are:
Governance
Financial Growth
Business Infrastructure
Advocacy and Communications
Last night at the cocktail evening the NZILA President’s Awards were presented for the first time by Henry and Brad.
Here are the recipients of the new awards which are designed to celebrate people or groups who go above and beyond for the institute of the landscape architecture profession.
Gavin Lister was awarded the President’s Award for contribution to the profession of Landscape Architecture - Landscape Assessment Guidelines
Rachel de Lambert was awarded the President’s Award for contribution to the profession of Landscape Architecture - Landscape Assessment Guidelines
Alan Titchener was awarded the President’s Award for contribution to the profession of Landscape Architecture - Landscape Assessment Guidelines
The Landscape Foundation was awarded the President’s Award for the publication of Kia Whakanuia te Whenua
Dennis Scott was awarded the President’s Award for recognition in International Achievement for publication - Design with Nature (Now)
Phil Wihongi was awarded the President’s Award in recognition of outstanding achievement in the championing and nurturing of Kaupapa Māori Design Practice
William Hatton was awarded the President’s Award for recognition as an Emerging Leader in Landscape Architecture
