Wellington at lockdown level 4 - a photo essay

Wellington is set to drop to level three lockdown overnight tomorrow. The move was signalled by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern last week as her government continues its goal of eliminating Covid-19 during this current outbreak.

The capital will be joined in the level drop by all of Aotearoa, apart from Auckland and Northland, as the City of Sails continues to be the epicentre of the Delta clusters.

Armed with their cameras, masks, and making sure to stay socially distanced, Wellington City Council photographers Neil Price and Nadine McGrath have been capturing the capital under lockdown.

Their images give us a evocative reminder of how our cities were forced to change, and how differently they were used, during these extraordinary times.
