2022 - The year that was
As the working year draws to a close Tuia Pito Ora New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects’ President Henry Crothers has been reflecting on what has been a milestone year for the profession and for the Institute.
“It's been really nice to have life return somewhat to normal this year, and it's been really significant with the celebration of our 50th anniversary. The awards program that we celebrated earlier this year and also the publication of Te Tangi a te Manu and Tuia Pito Ora - He Whanaahua,” he says.
This stunning image is of Pureora Forest and is by Isthmus’ Simon Button. NZILA President Henry Crothers says the Institute is very grateful to Simon to have been able to use it in both Te Tangi a Te Manu and Tuia Pito Ora - He Whakaahua - the NZILA’s 50th anniversary publication.
Henry also highlights the October 2022 NZILA Firth Conference and the Resene New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architecture Awards. “It was really great to wrap up the conference with our awards ceremony this year. I think it was a really significant event here in Tamaki Makaurau and it was really great to see some truly city making and placemaking projects be celebrated and acknowledged.”
He reminds the landscape architecture community that planning is well underway for the 2023 NZILA Firth Conference in Nelson in May.
